Betty Cavacco:

Are we all set, Anthony?

Anthony Senesi:

Yes, we are.

Betty Cavacco:

Great! Good morning, everyone and welcome to the Plymouth Select Board meeting, Friday July 22nd of 2022, and I’ll call this meeting to order. We have a bunch of licenses and administrative notes. If the Board sees fit, I would like to take them each as a group: licenses as one group, administrative notes as the second group unless there are any questions on any of them. Does anybody in the Board have any questions on these?

Dick Quintal:

No. I make a motion to move them as a group, the licenses.

Charlie Bletzer:

I’ll second that.

Betty Cavacco:

Motion by Mr. Quintal, seconded by Mr. Bletzer. Discussion? All those in favor?

Charlie Bletzer:

Aye.

Dick Quintal:

Aye.

Betty Cavacco:

Unanimous. Now, Administrative Notes is another group. Mr. Quintal?

Dick Quintal:

I like to move them as a group, my motion.

Charlie Bletzer:

I’ll second that.

Betty Cavacco:

Motion to move as a group made by Mr. Quintal, seconded by Mr. Bletzer. Is there any discussion? All those in favor?

Charlie Bletzer:

Aye.

Dick Quintal:

Aye.

Betty Cavacco:

Unanimous again. Is Mr. Brothers here?

Dick Quintal:

Yes.

Betty Cavacco:

Yes. Brad just wants to give a brief update to our residents regarding our cooling centers and things like that. So, we’ll just allow him to do that.

Brad Brothers:

Thank you. I hope that everyone is having a good Friday here. Two quick updates. The first one, I’ll talk about the Simes House. So, just so you guys know, I know we left at last time that we’d be looking at the lease agreements, what we could do if we had to have new one signed. We’re able to have a document that will be signed by the previous group and it actually rolls over and it gives us the lease assignment rights. So, there’s no new documentation that needs to be signed by the current tenants. Everything from their term, their current existing contract carries over. They’re good to go. I called them. I’ve let them know. They were happy to hear that there’s no change in their living situation. And also, they had a couple of follow up questions that we don’t have the exact answers to in terms of renewals and just basic questions like that, but I told them the next couple of weeks, we would meet with them meaning the administration here to discuss and answer any questions they have. So, they were happy to hear that. That is going to be signed today. Donna is coming in and we’ll be good to go. So, that is all set. Any questions on that piece?

Betty Cavacco:

No.

Charlie Bletzer:

A question, Brad. One question I have.

Brad Brothers:

Go ahead, Charlie. We can hear you.

Charlie Bletzer:

Derek was talking about having the following day after the meeting to have and meet DPW, Inspectional Services, fire department get down there and inspect that building. Did they find anything outrageous down there or is there anything that needs to be fixed on that building?

Brad Brothers:

Yeah. So, we did a quick little tour of that right after that meeting, the next day. It was actually two days afterwards. Inspectional Services, the police department and a few other various departments came through in the walk-in tour, nothing of urgent concern but they are planning a little quick deeper walk I think next week, just take another look and dive a little bit deeper.

Charlie Bletzer:

Okay, good. Great.

Dick Quintal:

Betty, you see Harry? Harry wants–

Betty Cavacco:

I do. Go ahead, Harry.

Harry Helm:

Brad, just to follow up on Charlie’s question. I know that Derek expressed particular concern because of the existence of the tenants, that one of the two means of egress is down the center stairway to the first floor that the fire department come and inspect because there are no fire bars on any of the doors. So, if they come down that way, they’re stuck and they’ve either got to figure out how to break a window and crawl for that or they suffer the consequences. So, did the fire department attend this?

Brad Brothers:

Yes, they did. And I think it was another means of egress that was found not specific to that first one but it was covered and they were happy with what they saw.

[0:05:08]

Brad Brothers:

So, I don’t have the specifics on that, but they didn’t leave there saying that this was an issue that needs to be resolved right away.

Harry Helm:

Okay. At some point, I do think that the fire department should write something to the Board of Selectmen and you and Derek about this because it’s been called to a lot of people’s attention.

Brad Brothers:

Yup. I’ll follow up with the Fire Department.

Harry Helm:

All right. Thank you.

Betty Cavacco:

And then the next is for the cooling station prep.

Brad Brothers:

Yup. So, cooling station updates. I’ll give you guys just the general areas we have opened during the week and then notice some changes for the weekend. So, currently, the CAL is open Monday through Friday, 8:30-4:00. And if anyone needs transportation to the CAL, you can contact April Thompson and her number is (508) 830-4230 extension 106. And again, remember, that’s a new program that we’re offering and beyond just cooling, you can set up transportation to the CAL anytime you want.

The community room at Cedarville Fire Station is open 8:00 to 4:00, Monday through Friday. The main library is open Monday through Wednesday from 10:00 am to 9:00 pm, Thursday 10:00 am to 6:00 pm, Friday-Saturday from 10:00 am to 5:30 pm and is closed on Sunday.

The Manomet Branch Library is open Monday, Wednesday, Saturday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, Thursday 1:00 pm to 9:00 pm and is closed Tuesday, Friday and Sunday. For this weekend, the CAL will be opened on Sunday from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm. And if you need transportation, that can be arranged by calling the fire department business line at number (508) 830-4213 extension 100. And again, that is specifically for this weekend. You can call on Friday or Saturday and they’ll help you arrange transportation for you.

Just to go over the two locations again that will be opened this weekend are the Main Library. It is going to be opened on Saturday from 10:00 am to 5:30 and the CAL will be opened on Sunday from 11:00 to 4:00. I’ll just repeat this one more time. If you need transportation for that, you can call the fire business line at (508) 830-4213 extension 100. And those are extra services we added on for this weekend.

Betty Cavacco:

Excellent. So, if anybody needs anything out there or you see your neighbor that might be in despair that needs a little cooling, please feel free to reach out to our numbers that Mr. Brothers provided. So, now, there’s a motion to adjourn.

Brad Brothers:

I would just like for one more special thanks out there.

Betty Cavacco:

One more.

Brad Brothers:

Not an update just a thank you to Chief Foley, Barry DeBlasio and Christian Horvath at the EOC for all their efforts to make this work and then also every other one else in the departments that make this work. There’s a lot of work behind the scenes, so thank you for them for their efforts. We appreciate it.

Betty Cavacco:

Great! Thank them for us as well.

Brad Brothers:

Will do.

Dick Quintal:

Motion to adjourn.

Charlie Bletzer:

Second.

Betty Cavacco:

All right, guys. We’ll see you Tuesday.

Dick Quintal:

Thank you.

Betty Cavacco:

Take care. Have a good weekend. Be safe.

Harry Helm:

Everybody, stay cool.

Charlie Bletzer:

Stay cool. Take care.
